PRIMARY AREAS OF TUTORING:

• Beacon Literacy (Reading) – Reading is a basic deficiency among students as a whole.  All other subjects are affected by a student’s ability to read.

• Math – Basic, Algebra, Geometry, and other areas in which students are having problems.

• Language Arts – Grammar and Vocabulary

SECONDARY AND “ON DEMAND” TUTORING:

• Basic Computer/Typing Skills and General Office Procedure Skills – We assist children and adults in learning the basics of typing and how to use a computer.  We also teach adults general office skills so that they may be better prepared for the job market.


• Counseling – We offer one-on-one counseling for individuals, or families, in areas that are needed.


• Art/Drama/Music – We tutor children and adults in these additional areas as needed.


• Parenting Classes – We offer classes for parents of young children and teenagers with an experienced volunteer staff that have been through what young parents are going through with their children and teenagers.


• Mentoring – We have volunteer mentors for children to teach them, by example, the right way of living life.
